July and August East Tennessee Events
Summer events are a must when you visit the 9 Lakes Region. Play, hike, bike, paddle, splash and swim during the day and then head to an event for the evening when the heat of the day is done.
Along with live weekend music and fun times at your favorite marinas, the July and August event schedule is hot, hot, hot in East Tennessee.

- July 10-19: Gatlinburg Craftmen’s Summer Craft Fair II – Gatlinburg Appalachian arts.
- July 13-18: Anderson County Fair- Clinton, TN- Demonstration, midway, music
- July 17-18: Annual Grainger County Tomato Festival – Rutledge- Celebrating the famous, yummy tomato- music, crafts, and the infamous tomato wars.
- July 24-25 – Greenbrier Mountain Festival – Pittman Center- music, crafts, family fun.
- July 31- Aug1: Kuumba Festival – Knoxville- Drum, Dance, crafts and food vendors.
- July 30- Aug 16: Sunflower Fest at Nightfall Acres- Philadelphia- Celebrate flower power.
- July 31: Sip of Summerfest– Clinton – Live music, food and craft brew fest.
- Aug 7-8: Cumberland Gap Folkfest- storytelling, crafts, vendors
- Aug 8: Eighth of August Jubilee- Knoxville- Special tribute to the Negro League baseball at Covenant Park
- Aug 14: Bluegrass at Big Ridge– Annual evening of pickin’ and playing.
- Aug 15: East Tennessee History Fair– Knoxville- Celebrate the Semiquincentennial!
- Aug 15: Loudon River Fest- Loudon- paddle
- Aug 15: Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival – Townsend- annual summer event with music, tethered balloon rides, and balloon glow.
- Aug 15: Pedal the Gap and Pinnacle Challenge– road cycling event, youth bike rodeo.
- Aug 18-22: Cocke County A&I Fair– Back to Boots and Roots- midway, county fair
- Aug 22: International Food Festival- Morristown- sample the region’s international flavor.
- Aug 23-24: 12th annual Asian Festival- Knoxville- Music, authentic Asian foods, and dance.
- Sep3 -Sep 7: Toyota Roundup at Windrock– Oliver Springs- If you have the truck, we have the trails. Largest gathering on the East Coast
