Fishing
Cherokee Lake is a premier destination for bass anglers, offering some of the highest fish densities among Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) reservoirs. The lake’s rich forage base, including threadfin shad, gizzard shad, and alewife, supports a diverse fish population. Over the years, various fish attractors, such as brush piles and stake beds, have been constructed to enhance fishing opportunities. Below the dam, the Holston River tailwater provides excellent fly-fishing prospects. Stocked with rainbow and brown trout, the river offers a peaceful fishing experience in East Tennessee
