Spirit of Nations Powwow
115 W. Dumplin Valley Road, Dandridge, TN 37841COUNTY
Jefferson
Powwows are centuries-old traditions for many American Indian nations.
After the nomadic hunts, tribes would gather to share of stories about the great hunting feats and raiding parties, and a time for the telling of visions and the singing of songs that held many powers and spoke of the deeds of fallen brothers and of ancestors gone many years.
The powwows in the old days were a time of music, songs, and dancing. Modern powwows recreate the traditions of native music, dress, and storytelling.
The event will run from 10 am to 6 pm at Jefferson County High School.
