Chili Cook-Off in Tellico Plains

The Tellico Plains Merchant Associations is pleased to announce that they will be holding a chili cookoff on the square on October 16th, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
There will not only be chili, but also a pie cook off and many other activities. Benchmark Physical Therapy will be giving away a quilt and Mecca Camp Resort will be providing a picnic area. There will be a children’s area for the little one’s with face-painting and a bouncy house. Half of the proceeds will go to the merchants association and half of the proceeds will go to JAM (Junier Appalachian Musicians) which is a non-profit that teaches children in the area traditional Appalachian music free of cost. JAM founder Perry Brake will be playing traditional Appalachian music at the event.
So join us for an afternoon of community, fun, and celebration of the harvest season. Have a warm bowl of chili and enjoy a game of checkers as you listen to some traditional Appalachian tunes and then stroll down Tellico Plains historic downtown and get a chance to do some early Christmas shopping and chat with the local vendors and shop owners.
Tickets are $5 per person for unlimited chili sampling as long as chili lasts.
