Winter is the perfect time to hit the trails in the 9 Lakes Region! From white-knuckle climbs to scenic ridge rides, this area offers some of Tennessee’s most thrilling OHV experiences. With over 1,200 miles of interconnected, rugged mountain trails spanning 200,000+ acres across the Cumberland Mountains, there’s a ride for every thrill level.

Ride Royal Blue / North Cumberland WMA Trails (Pioneer, TN)

  • Trails twist through forests, ridges, and mountain terrain
  • Rentals available for hassle-free riding
  • Permit required: All riders over 12 need a valid TWRA permit (Type 36 daily or Type 1+93 annual), available at Go Outdoors Tennessee or local stores
  • Safety: Helmets required for riders under 18, strongly recommended for all
  • Daily use pass required

Windrock Park(Oliver Springs, TN)

  • One of the largest OHV parks in the region, with trails for beginners and pros
  • Trails traverse forests, ridges, and rugged mountains
  • Mandatory Land Use Permit required for all riders
  • Daily use pass required

 Brimstone ATV Resort (Huntsville, TN)

  • Thrilling climbs and scenic cruising in one spot
  • Full-service rentals for gear and ATVs
  • Daily use pass required
