July 4th Holiday Fireworks and Fun 9 Lakes
There is no shortage of fun July 4th activities to attend in the 9 Lakes. Celebrate the holiday by joining in on one of the many traditional events being held across the region. Family picnics, community square dance, parades, live music concerts, and of course, fireworks are all fun ways to make lasting memories with family and friends.
Step back in time for the annual Anvil Shoot at the Museum of Appalachia in Clinton. .In the tradition of the original pioneers, Independence Day is celebrated by launching a gunpowder-filled anvil high into the sky saluting the holiday with a large boom.
Nearby on Watts Bar Lake in Kingston, family fun is the theme of the festivities at the Annual Smokin the Water celebration featuring a BBQ contest, parade, ice cold watermelon, and one of the largest fireworks displays in the Southeast.
There is no shortage of fireworks across the region and choosing where to view is only half the fun. Spend the day boating and swimming, and then float up to enjoy an evening fireworks display from your boat. Fire on the Water and Festival on the Fourth are just a sampling of the fireworks displays that will light up the skies across the 9 Lakes Region. Or you can view the shows from land based locations that provide the perfect site for a blanket and picnic basket.
