Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the town of Dandridge is named after First Lady Martha Dandridge Washington. This quaint town has preserved its historic buildings, including the Jefferson County Courthouse. Built in 1845, the courthouse is still functional and serves as a museum as well. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll through the historic streets then enjoy a southern supper at one of the locally-owned restaurants. Overnight travelers feel right at home as guests of one of the bed and breakfast inns or nearby hotels at Exit 417 on Interstate 40.
