Industry Applause: Tennessee tourism partners did an outstanding job this year in driving visitation and making the rankings of some popular tourism-related lists. Hats off to these partners and to all of the others not mentioned here.

Tennessee Overhill's Old Line Railroad has a 20-mile section, the popular Hiwassee River Rail Adventure fun on Old Line Railroad, which was named to the National Register of Historic Places.

National Motorcoach Association named Pigeon Forge its "Top Motorcoach Destination of 2007." Pigeon Forge jumped up from number 14 last year - leapfrogging last year's winners, New York City and Washington D.C., making the largest jump in the poll's 20-year history.

USA Today named Sevierville's Berry Springs Lodge as one of the "Top 10 Locations in the Country for Fall Foliage Viewing."
Southern Living readers poll named Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge as the top Mountain Destinations. Both towns placed second behind Atlanta in the shopping category. Blackberry Farm was named "No. 1 Country Inn/Bed and Breakfast," an honor the property has maintained since 2002.
Tennessee State Parks is one of three finalists competing nationally for the 2007 Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in the state parks category. Gold Medal Awards are presented by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association.
